Archer Wins Competitive Bid Process to Acquire Lilium's Patent Portfolio

Archer Aviation announced that it has secured the winning bid to acquire Lilium GmbH’s portfolio of 300 advanced air mobility patent assets for €18 million. The acquisition includes intellectual property covering high-voltage systems, battery management, electric propulsion, flight controls, and ducted fan technologies — innovations central to next-generation eVTOL design. Archer Founder and CEO Adam Goldstein noted that Lilium’s pioneering engineering has significantly advanced electric aviation and that this acquisition will accelerate Archer’s product development roadmap while reinforcing U.S. leadership in eVTOL innovation.

 

Air Lease Announces Lease Placement of Six New Airbus Aircraft

Air Lease Corporation (ALC) announced long-term lease agreements with startup carrier Magnifica Air for six new Airbus aircraft, comprising four A220-300s and two A321-200neos. Deliveries are scheduled for 2027. The agreement represents Magnifica Air’s first aircraft placement and marks ALC’s continued success in supporting emerging premium carriers. ALC Executive Vice President David Beker stated that the partnership will help the airline redefine luxury travel by turning each flight into a destination experience, underscoring ALC’s strength in enabling startup growth through flexible fleet solutions.

 

Breeze Airways and AIP Capital Complete Secured Debt Financing

AIP Capital and Breeze Airways jointly announced the closing of a $47.5 million secured debt financing through AIP’s Private Credit strategy. The funding is backed by a diversified collateral package, including Breeze’s spare parts inventory, an engine, and a flight simulator. The financing will support the airline’s continued expansion and fleet growth. GlobalX Secures Contract with Sunrise Airways

Global Crossing Airlines (GlobalX) has signed a long-term wet-lease agreement with Sunrise Airways, covering two Airbus A320 aircraft configured with 179 seats each. Services under the agreement will begin in November 2025, supporting Sunrise’s expanding network across the Caribbean and Central America. GlobalX President and CFO Ryan Goepel stated that the partnership reflects GlobalX’s growing position as a preferred ACMI provider, delivering reliable and flexible capacity solutions to partner airlines while contributing to their operational efficiency and network growth.
