Air Transat A330 Positions to Ireland West Airport

Air Transat ferried one of its Airbus A330 aircraft to Ireland West Airport at the end of April, with Airbus A330-243 C-GUFR operating a positioning flight from Montreal. The aircraft, c/n 251, arrived under flight number TSC40 at 17:18 local time on 30 April. The airframe has a history spanning more than 25 years, having first flown from Toulouse in January 1999 before entering service with Emirates later that year.

 

ASL Airlines Leases Second A330P2F to Saudi Cargo

ASL Airlines Ireland has deployed Airbus A330-302(P2F), registered EI-LKC, on a new wet-lease assignment for Saudi Cargo. The aircraft positioned from Shannon to King Abdulaziz International Airport on 28 April, operating as flight ABR30. The A330 is being operated under an ACMI lease, providing Saudi Cargo with aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance support as it strengthens its widebody freighter operations.

 

Flexjet Ireland Seeks US DOT Approval for US Operations

Dublin-based Flexjet International DAC, operating as Flexjet Ireland, has filed an application with the U.S. Department of Transportation seeking an exemption and Foreign Air Carrier Permit. The filing states the company’s intention to conduct passenger and cargo charter operations connecting the European Union, the United States and other international destinations. The application reflects Flexjet Ireland’s plans to expand its operational reach under the EU-U.S. Open Skies framework.

HS-TOD Airbus A321-271N Delivered to Thai Airways:

The Airbus A321-271N, registered as HS-TOD, has been delivered to Thai Airways, operating from Hamburg-Finkenwerder to Bangkok via Ashgabat between 24 and 25 April 2026. The aircraft, c/n 13073, adds latest-generation narrowbody capacity to the airline’s fleet. The delivery supports Thai Airways’ network and fleet renewal strategy, reflecting continued demand for fuel-efficient single-aisle aircraft across Asian markets.

UK Relaxes ‘Use It or Lose It’ Rule on Airport Slots 

England’s Department for Transport has confirmed an exemption to the “use it or lose it” airport slot rule in cases of fuel shortages. The rule normally requires airlines to use 80% of their allocated slots to retain them for future seasons. With Airport Coordination Limited updating its guidance, airlines can now apply for exemptions when fuel supply constraints prevent planned operations, highlighting how regulators are adapting slot rules to support operational stability during disruption.

 

Avora Aviation Delivers Airbus A321 to Sky Vision Airlines on Operating Lease

Avora Aviation has delivered an Airbus A321-211 aircraft on a dry operating lease to Cairo-based Sky Vision Airlines. The aircraft has been placed on the Egyptian registry and ferried to its operating base ahead of commercial service entry. The delivery will support Sky Vision Airlines’ international network growth and reflects continued demand for A321 aircraft within expanding regional and leisure-focused markets.

 

Biman Bangladesh Airlines Orders 14 Boeing 787 Dreamliner and 737 MAX Jets

Biman Bangladesh Airlines has placed its largest-ever aircraft order, selecting 14 Boeing 787 Dreamliner and 737 MAX aircraft to expand and modernise its fleet. The order includes the airline’s first 787-10 purchase, enabling it to operate the full 787 family, alongside its first 737 MAX order for single-aisle fleet renewal. The deal supports Biman’s long-term growth strategy, improving widebody and narrowbody capability across international and regional markets. 

 

CAE and easyJet Extend Generation easyJet MPL Partnership for Five Years

CAE and easyJet have extended their Generation easyJet Multi-Crew Pilot Licence partnership for another five years, reinforcing CAE’s role as easyJet’s exclusive MPL training partner. The programme will reopen with selected cadets expected to begin training in late 2026, supporting easyJet’s future pilot recruitment needs. DHL Achieves 10% SAF Blending Ratio in 2025:

DHL achieved a 10% sustainable aviation fuel blending ratio in 2025, marking its highest level in recent years. The company attributed the progress to strong partnerships with certified SAF suppliers and continued investment in lower-emission air transport since 2021. DHL aims to increase SAF’s share in its air transport operations to 30% by 2030, reflecting the growing role of industry partnerships in aviation decarbonisation. 

 

easyJet HY1 Losses Deepen as Costs Escalate:

easyJet expects to report a headline loss before tax of £540 million to £560 million for the first half of its 2026 financial year, deeper than the £394 million loss reported in the same period last year. The airline said the increase was partly driven by higher fuel costs, adding pressure to its seasonal first-half performance. Parker brings more than 35 years of aviation experience, including his previous role as CEO of American Airlines. The AGM also marked the retirement of Julian Branch from the Board, concluding eight years of service with the company. 

 

Arthur Cox Backs Aer Lingus College Football Classic with Three-Year Sponsorship Deal

daa Delivers Strong Operational Performance in 2025 Amid Cost Pressures

daa has reported a strong operational performance for 2025, supported by record passenger demand across Dublin and Cork airports. A total of 39.9 million passengers travelled through both airports during the year, making it the busiest year on record. The group delivered turnover of €1.18 billion, EBITDA of €401 million and profit after tax of €230 million, while recommending a €66 million dividend to the State.
