airBaltic Recommences Dublin-Riga Route
airBaltic has recommenced its direct Dublin to Riga service for the summer season, with the first flight departing on 3 June operated by Airbus A220-300 YL-ABG, MSN 55154. The twice-weekly service operates on Wednesdays and Sundays until 30 August, with an additional Friday frequency added during August to support peak summer demand. The route strengthens Dublin’s connectivity to Eastern Europe, while airBaltic’s onboard Skynet platform, powered by Starlink connectivity, supports an enhanced passenger experience on the sector.
EI-HXH Airbus A321LR Delivered To ITA Airways
ITA Airways has taken delivery of Airbus A321-271NXLR EI-HXH, c/n 12949, which was handed over at Hamburg-Finkenwerder and ferried to Rome Fiumicino on 12 May 2026 as flight AZA8021. The aircraft entered commercial service on 15 May, operating the Rome Fiumicino-Brussels rotation as AZA156/159. Configured with 165 seats across Business, Premium Economy and Economy, the aircraft supports ITA Airways’ medium-haul network strategy with improved range, cabin flexibility and narrowbody operating efficiency.
Ireland West Airport Aims For French Connectivity
Ireland West Airport welcomed French Ambassador to Ireland Céline P. Place as part of her official visit to the West and Northwest of Ireland. The airport outlined the demand for services between the West of Ireland and France, noting that more than 50 percent of French visitors to Ireland travel to the West and Northwest. Securing direct French access would support regional tourism, improve inbound connectivity and strengthen Ireland West Airport’s role in linking the west of Ireland with key European markets.

N523VL Airbus A320-233 Ferried to Orlando Sandford
Volaris Airbus A320-233 N523VL, c/n 6014, was ferried to Orlando Sandford on 5 June 2026 following return to lessor. The update records the aircraft’s ferry movement and confirms its lessor return status.

Emirates Ready to Invest in Daily Berlin and Stuttgart Flights
Emirates has confirmed it is ready to launch daily services to Berlin and Stuttgart, subject to approval from the German Federal Ministry of Transport. The airline said it would commit more than 100 million EUR each year towards operational expenses, staff, airport charges, fuel and other related costs for the proposed services.
National Airlines Takes Delivery of Second Boeing 777F
National Airlines has taken delivery of its second Boeing 777 Freighter, N792CA, from Boeing’s production facility in Everett, Seattle. The delivery marks another milestone in the airline’s fleet expansion and strengthens its long-haul cargo capabilities. The aircraft will support National Airlines’ customised global charter cargo solutions for customers and industries worldwide.
Philippine Airlines to Join oneworld Alliance
Philippine Airlines will become oneworld’s 16th member airline following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding at the International Air Transport Association’s 82nd Annual General Meeting in Rio de Janeiro. The addition of the Philippines’ national flag carrier will further strengthen oneworld’s presence in Southeast Asia.
Plus Ultra Signs Long-Term ACMI Agreement for Harare–London Route
Plus Ultra Líneas Aéreas has signed a 13-month ACMI agreement with Air Zimbabwe to operate the Harare–London route from 1 July. The agreement, brokered by Chapman Freeborn Aviation Services, covers flights between Zimbabwe and the United Kingdom several times a week. The flight time on the route is approximately ten and a half hours.
Privilege Style to Enter Freighter Market With A330-300P2F
Privilege Style is set to enter the freighter segment with an Airbus A330-300P2F within weeks, becoming the first Spanish airline to operate the type. The airline expects to take delivery of the 2004-vintage aircraft, MSN 641, on lease from CAM and complete its induction into the Privilege Style AOC in the coming weeks, with operations beginning shortly after.
United CEO Quells Consolidation Chatter
United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby has said he does not see a rush for consolidation in the U.S. market, despite recent discussion around airline mergers and acquisitions. Speaking in Rio de Janeiro, Kirby addressed the consolidation chatter that followed reports a few weeks earlier, while also stating that he still believes in the potential benefits of a merger with American Airlines.
3TOP Aviation Services Acquires Two Embraer E190 Aircraft
3TOP Aviation Services has announced the acquisition of two Embraer E190-100 regional jet aircraft, MSNs 19000470 and 19000479, previously operated by Alitalia. The transaction expands 3TOP’s fleet portfolio and marks a focused move into high-demand regional jet platforms. The acquired assets will support the global aviation supply chain through engine and airframe component availability.
First Amazon Factory 767-300F Begins Service With ABX
Amazon has begun operations with the first of its three young production Boeing 767-300F aircraft, with ABX Air operating the aircraft on its behalf. The 2022-vintage, CF6-powered unit 67027 entered revenue CMI service with ABX after beginning flights between Cincinnati and Las Vegas on 1 June.
7Air to Enter Widebody Segment With 767 Freighter
7Air is set to expand its freighter fleet with a Boeing 767 freighter, marking the Miami-based carrier’s first widebody aircraft. The airline plans to add the medium-widebody freighter within the next four to six months, following completion of the certification and approval process with the FAA and U.S. DOT.

Azorra Places Firm Order for 15 Embraer E195-E2 Aircraft
Azorra has placed a firm order for 15 additional Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, increasing its total firm E2 orderbook from 39 to 54 jets. The agreement also includes purchase rights for 15 additional aircraft and marks the third increase to Azorra’s original E2 order, first placed in December 2021. Embraer said the deal pushes the E2 programme beyond 500 total orders.
Irish Community Campaigns for Knock-Newcastle Air Route
The Tyneside Irish Centre has written to Ryanair requesting regular flights from Newcastle-upon-Tyne to Ireland West Airport. The Irish community group said the route would be well supported by its members, many of whom regularly use Ryanair services. Tyneside Irish Centre spokesperson Kevin McAleese thanked Ryanair for its role in connecting the northeast of England with Ireland and the wider world.
United Airlines Highlights Irish Capacity Growth
Karolien De Hertogh of United Airlines visited Dublin to brief key media on the airline’s plans for the Irish market. She reiterated United’s commitment to Ireland, citing a more than 50 percent increase in the airline’s overall seat offer from Dublin to the United States in 2026 compared with 2024. She also highlighted the accelerated rollout of Starlink connectivity across United’s mainline fleet and the Airbus A321XLR with the airline’s elevated interior.
Legislation to Lift Dublin Airport Passenger Cap Expected by July
The Government plans to enact legislation by mid-July to lift the passenger cap at Dublin Airport, according to Transport Minister Darragh O’Brien. The 32 million passenger-per-year cap is currently suspended pending a European Court ruling. Dublin Airport exceeded the limit by 4 million passengers last year.
Ryanair Becomes Debt-Free With 620 Owned Boeing 737s
Ryanair has announced that it has repaid its final €1.2 billion bond, making the airline debt-free as it enters the busy Northern Hemisphere summer season. The carrier said this marks the first time since 1997, when Ryanair was floated on the stock exchange, that it is free from financial obligations. Ryanair now operates an unencumbered fleet of 620 Boeing 737 aircraft.

Speculation Over Possible Dublin-Norwich Air Route
A document seen by the Eastern Daily Press has revealed that a request has been made at Dublin Airport for a new flight slot to Norwich Airport. It is currently unclear which airline made the request. The development could signal the possible return of flights between Norwich and Ireland after Flybe ended its service in 2009.
