Aer Lingus Deploys A330-300 Capacity on Selected Dublin–Italy Services
Aer Lingus has used 317-seat Airbus A330-300 aircraft on selected Dublin–Italy services to provide additional capacity in response to demand. One-off Dublin–Rome flights on 9 and 19 September 2026 were operated by EI-EDY, MSN 1025, and EI-EIK, MSN 0789, replacing the usual 174-seat Airbus A320-200. EI-EIK was also deployed on a Dublin–Verona service on 12 September. The substitutions highlight Aer Lingus’ ability to flex widebody capacity across short-haul routes when demand warrants larger aircraft.
IrishAero Commercial Aircraft Report Highlights Global Fleet Movements
The 21 September IrishAero Commercial Aircraft Report highlights a mix of aircraft deliveries, freighter movements and registration changes across several markets. Air Sial received Airbus A320-232 AP-BPO in Karachi, while Fly One took delivery of Airbus A321-211 ER-00015 in Chisinau. Freighter activity included ASL Airlines France Boeing 737-8AS(F) F-HIQJ, K-Mile Air Boeing 737-8AS(F) HS-KMF and Jupiter Jet Boeing 757-223(F) N195AN. Ireland-linked movements included AJet Boeing 737-8F2 TC-JFN positioning from Istanbul to Ireland West Airport and Boeing 737-8AL 2-AOIF being registered at Shannon, reflecting continued transition and repositioning activity across the commercial fleet market.
Ryanair Increases Ireland West Airport–Liverpool Weekend Frequency
Ryanair will increase frequency on its Ireland West Airport–Liverpool route during the winter season, adding double-daily services on Saturdays and Sundays. The airline will operate 10 weekly flights between the two airports using Liverpool-based Boeing 737-800 and Boeing 737 MAX 8-200 aircraft, configured with 189 and 198 seats respectively. The additional weekend capacity strengthens connectivity between the west of Ireland and Liverpool, supporting both leisure travel and short-break demand.

9V-MCA Boeing 737-8 Delivered to Singapore Airlines
Singapore Airlines has taken delivery of Boeing 737-8 9V-MCA, MSN 44270. The aircraft routed from Paine Field to Singapore via Honolulu and Guam between 19 and 21 September 2026.
HL8755 Boeing 737-8 Delivered to Trinity Airways
Trinity Airways has taken delivery of Boeing 737-8 HL8755, MSN 44332. The aircraft routed from Boeing Field to Seoul Incheon via Anchorage and Chitose between 17 and 19 September 2026.
A6-FPL Boeing 737-8 Delivered to flydubai
flydubai has taken delivery of Boeing 737-8 A6-FPL, MSN 60972. The aircraft routed from Boeing Field to Dubai via Shannon between 17 and 19 September 2026.

AJW Group Signs A330 Support Deal with Sun PhuQuoc Airways
AJW Group has signed a six-year Power-by-the-Hour support agreement with Sun PhuQuoc Airways. The agreement will support the Vietnamese carrier’s expanding Airbus A330 fleet and its medium- and long-haul operations across the Asia-Pacific region. The first two A330s will enter service this month, with the fleet expected to grow to as many as 15 aircraft by 2030. The agreement builds on an earlier long-term PBH and Main Base Kit agreement covering Sun PhuQuoc Airways’ Airbus A320 family fleet.
Werner Aero Acquires Third Aircraft in August
Werner Aero has acquired an Airbus A319-100, MSN 2897, marking its third aircraft acquisition in August. The aircraft has been delivered to eCube Solutions in St Athan, Wales, for entry into Werner Aero’s teardown programme. The acquisition brings the company’s total aircraft acquisitions to 16. Of these, 14 aircraft had entered its teardown programme through August 2026, reflecting continued activity in the aviation aftermarket and aircraft lifecycle management sector.
AFI KLM E&M Appoints Eléonore Tramus as CRMA Chief Executive
Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance has appointed Eléonore Tramus as chief executive of CRMA Aero Repair, effective immediately. CRMA is one of AFI KLM E&M’s centres of excellence for engine component repair and is looking to expand its capabilities. Tramus began her career at Safran Aircraft Engines and joined the Air France-KLM Group in 2010. She has since held leadership roles across the group’s airline and maintenance, repair and overhaul operations.
K2 Aviation Acquires Six-Aircraft Portfolio from Carlyle
K2 Aviation has agreed to acquire six Airbus and Boeing aircraft from Carlyle Aviation Partners. This is its first transaction with the global aircraft lessor and asset manager. The aircraft are currently leased to five airline customers. K2 has not disclosed the individual aircraft types, operators or financial terms, and expects to complete all six acquisitions by the end of the first quarter of 2027.
ALM Acquires A320neo Operated by Cebu Pacific
Aircraft Leasing & Management has acquired an Airbus A320neo operated by Cebu Pacific. The transaction adds the Philippine carrier as a new customer within the portfolio ALM manages for Fuyo General Lease. The aircraft, RP-C4134, MSN 11143, is the first Cebu Pacific-operated aircraft in Fuyo’s managed portfolio. The acquisition increases Fuyo’s exposure to new-generation narrowbody aircraft and further diversifies its airline customer base in Asia.
FAA Authorises Further Boeing 777F Sales Beyond 2028 Deadline
The Federal Aviation Administration has authorised the sale of a further 35 Boeing 777Fs. The decision extends the period in which customers can buy the aircraft by up to three years. This takes sales beyond the previous January 2028 deadline, when new rules limiting emissions from newly manufactured aircraft come into force. The extension gives Boeing additional time to bridge the gap between the current 777 freighter and its successor, the 777-8F.
Airbus to Convert Former A380 Wing Facility for A321neo Production
Airbus announced on 21 September that it will invest US$200 million, or approximately £150 million, in its former A380 wing production facility. The Broughton plant will be converted to support the A321neo programme. The retooled facility will create 480 new jobs in the United Kingdom later this year and bring the local workforce to almost 6,500. The investment will make the North Wales site a larger part of the A321neo supply chain, which currently has an order book of around 5,700 aircraft.
Fourteen US Regional Airports Awarded Nearly US$12 Million for Air Service Development
Nearly US$12 million has been awarded to 14 regional airports across the United States. The funding is intended to improve and expand commercial air service. The grants were issued through the Small Community Air Service Development Program and can support initiatives such as revenue guarantees, marketing and air service studies. The US Department of Transportation received more than 60 applications from 32 states and territories.
Transavia France to Begin A321neo Operations in 2027
Transavia France plans to begin Airbus A321-200NX operations in the first quarter of 2027. The carrier said the aircraft will support improvements in both economic and environmental performance. The Air France-KLM subsidiary currently operates 31 A320-200N aircraft and 68 Boeing 737-800s. Transavia France first introduced aircraft from the A320neo family in early 2024.
ReGEN Opens New Singapore Components Hub
ReGEN, part of the Dublin-based Genesis group, opened a new Components Hub at Singapore’s Changi Airfreight Centre on 21 September 2026. ReGEN provides commercial aircraft airframe and engine component solutions. The facility will stock serviceable airframe and selected engine material for the Airbus A320 and A330 families and the Boeing 737 and 777 families. The regional inventory will provide airlines and MROs with faster access to in-demand components.

AJet Boeing 737-800 Positions to Ireland West Airport
AJet Boeing 737-8F2 TC-JFN, c/n 29776, repositioned from Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport to Ireland West Airport on 11 September for part-out. The aircraft operated the positioning flight as TKJ6600 and arrived at 1:00 pm local time. It first flew in June 1999 and was originally delivered to Turkish Airlines. Between October 2016 and August 2026, the aircraft operated with Turkish Airlines Group carriers AJet, AnadoluJet and SunExpress.
Ryanair and Vodafone Ireland Extend Partnership with Nine-Year Contract
Ryanair and Vodafone Ireland have extended their long-standing partnership through a renewed nine-year contract. Ryanair has been a Vodafone Ireland customer since 2001 and operates across 35 countries, carrying 214 million passengers this year. Vodafone Ireland provides connectivity, cloud, security and managed services across more than 400 Ryanair locations in Europe. These include offices, hangars and training centres, with the services connecting thousands of Ryanair employees.
Delta Linked to Potential Return of Northern Ireland-US Flights
Delta Air Lines has been involved in discussions with senior business figures about the potential return of direct flights between Northern Ireland and the United States. The engagement was outlined in official documents seen by The Irish News. Delta is headquartered in Atlanta and is the world’s largest airline by revenue. Its involvement was disclosed during a recent Stormont meeting between the Infrastructure Minister and the head of Boston’s largest airport.
United Boeing 767 Diverts to Shannon Following Engine Issue
United Airlines flight UA-938 diverted to Shannon Airport after its crew reported an engine issue over the Atlantic. The Boeing 767-322(ER) was operating from Chicago O’Hare to London Heathrow with 173 passengers and crew on board. Shortly after 10:00, the crew issued a Mayday call and informed air traffic controllers of an issue with the aircraft’s left engine. The aircraft subsequently diverted to Shannon.
Jet2 Partners with Adobe to Introduce Agentic AI
Jet2 announced a multi-year strategic partnership with Adobe on 22 September 2026. The partnership will combine Jet2’s customer experience capabilities and its 10 million myJet2 customers with Adobe’s Customer Experience Orchestration technology. Jet2 plans to use the technology, including agentic AI, as part of its customer experience. The aim is to provide more personalised and conversational interactions for customers.

Aer Lingus operated a one-off Dublin–Nice service, EIN544/5, on 10 September 2026 using Airbus A330-302 EI-ELA, MSN 1025. The two-class aircraft has 317 seats and replaced the 174-seat Airbus A320-200 normally used on the route. The source indicated that higher connecting traffic through Dublin may have contributed to the larger aircraft deployment. The operation also demonstrated the flexibility of the A330 fleet across both European and long-haul sectors.
Aer Lingus Regional Boosts Dublin–Liverpool Weekend Frequency
Aer Lingus Regional, operated by Emerald Airlines, will add services on the Dublin–Liverpool route from 31 October to 6 December. The additional flights will operate on Fridays and Sundays. Frequency on those days will increase from two to three daily services. The change gives passengers more weekend travel options between Dublin and Liverpool, including those travelling for football fixtures during the 2026–27 Premier League season.

ABL Aviation Delivers Seventh Aircraft to Copa Airlines
ABL Aviation has delivered its seventh aircraft to Copa Airlines this year. The latest aircraft is a Boeing 737-8 MAX powered by CFM LEAP-1B27 engines. The delivery supports Copa Airlines’ ongoing fleet modernisation and its use of newer, fuel-efficient narrowbody aircraft. One further aircraft is scheduled for delivery later this year, completing the current series between ABL Aviation and Copa Airlines.
