AerFin expands its Americas Business Development Team 

AerFin announced the appointment of Mike Vander Hee as its new VP Business Development - Engines for the Americas, to further strengthen its position in region. AerFin’s SVP Sales, James Bennett, said “I am delighted to welcome Mike on board. His wealth of industry knowledge, commercial background, and his network of relationships with OEMs, airlines and MROs alike, will be invaluable as we expand our service offering to our business partners in a key growth region for AerFin.”

Aeronautical Engineers Inc (AEI) announce it has added Grand China Aviation Maintenance Co, Ltd. (GCAM), a subsidiary of HNA Aviation Technic Co., Ltd to its authorized AEI Conversion Center partner network. Under this arrangement, Hainan Airlines will convert at least three AEI Boeing 737-800SFs at the facility. AEI senior vice president of sales and marketing Robert T. Convey, said “While the global narrowbody conversion market has slowed somewhat over the last year, we are nonetheless expanding conversion capacity as we believe the market will improve with China recording a stronger recovery over the next several years,”

 

Aviation Capital Group (ACG) invests in United Airlines Ventures Sustainable Flight Fund

Aviation Capital Group announced its investment in the United Airlines Ventures Sustainable Flight Fund. The United Airlines Ventures Sustainable Flight Fund. The fund is a way for companies and consumers to come together and increase the supply of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) through the support of start-ups. Aviation Capital Group Vice President and Head of ESG Gordon Grant, said “ACG is honoured to be a part of the UAV Sustainable Flight Fund. Sustainable aviation fuel is essential to reducing the CO2 emissions of air transport, and it supports our efforts to partner with organizations to help our industry reach the goal of net zero emissions by 2050.”

 

NASA-Boeing Sustainable Flight Demonstrator Project supported by US Airlines

Boeing and NASA will collaborate with U.S. airlines to advise the Sustainable Flight Demonstrator (SFD) project and development of the X-66A research aircraft. A new sustainability coalition has been formed by US Airlines including Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Southwest Airlines and United Airlines will provide input on operational efficiencies, maintenance, handling characteristics and airport compatibility. Boeing chief technology officer Todd Citron said "Hearing directly from the operators during all phases of the Sustainable Flight Demonstrator project will help us understand exact requirements and tradeoffs. The airlines' feedback will significantly contribute to the X-66A project learnings while furthering aviation sustainability."
