Advanced Radar to Serve Capital's New Airport  Beijing Daxing International Airport, the capital's new air hub, will be China's first airport to use the solid-state, dual polarization millimeter wave radar. The system was developed by researchers at the Beijing Institute of Radio Measurement, part of the China Aerospace Science and Industry Corp Second Academy. The equipment is capable of highly accurate observations of clouds, fog, snow and rain within a radius of 60 kilometers from the airport. It will enable the airport to know more details about cloud conditions, the institute said in a statement. AviaAM Financial Leasing China adds Emirates to its Client Portfolio AviaAM Leasing has announced that its joint venture with the Henan Civil Aviation Development and Investment Company (HNCA) – AviaAM Financial Leasing China – has recently acquired one more Boeing 777-300ER. The aircraft equipped with GE90-115BG03 engines joined the fleet with a lease agreement attached to the current lessee Emirates Airlines. China Opens Doors to South Korean Airlines China has approved the launch of 49 weekly flights by South Korean carriers in a sign of easing tensions over the 2014 deployment of a U.S. Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missile system on the Korean Peninsula. The new service—the first allowed by the Chinese in five years—gives Korean carriers new rights to fly from Seoul Incheon International Airport to Shanghai, Beijing, Yanjin, Shenzhen and Shenyang, and from Busan to Shanghai. According to an official at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MLIT) in Seoul, Kim Jung Rak, the development marks a big boost for the aviation and tourism industries of both countries. Finnair starts codeshare cooperation with Juneyao Air, extending its network in China Finnair and the Shanghai-based Juneyao Air have agreed on a new codeshare cooperation on the route operated by Juneyao Air and Finnair between Helsinki and Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG), as well as on selected Juneyao routes in China and selected Finnair routes in Finland. The new codeshare agreement adds eight new destinations to Finnair’s network in China. The 10th China Civil Aviation Development Forum: Shaping Brand New Future of Civil Aviation with Intelligence On May 16, the 10th China Civil Aviation Development Forum was opened in Beijing with the theme of "Intelligent Civil Aviation -- High quality Development of Civil Aviation in a New Scientific, Technological and Industrial Revolution". Leung Chun-ying, Vice Chairman of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Li Xiaopeng, Minister of the Ministry of Transport, and Dr. Olumuyiwa Benard Aliu, ICAO Council President, attended the forum and delivered speeches. Feng Zhenglin, Administrator of CAAC, delivered a keynote speech entitled "Shaping Brand New Future of Civil Aviation with Intelligence". Li Jian, Dong Zhiyi, and Lyu Erxue, Deputy Administrators of CAAC, participated in the forum. Dong Zhiyi chaired the forum and presided over the opening ceremony.
