ATR foresees Chinese certification of -600 series this year ATR expects to gain Chinese certification of its -600 series this year, as it bids to enter the country's market with the latest variants of its turboprops. The manufacturer's chief executive Christian Scherer said at a results briefing in Toulouse on 22 January that the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) had accepted an application to certificate the aircraft. BOC Aviation Takes Delivery Of 250th Aircraft From Boeing BOC Aviation announced 24 January the delivery of its 250th aircraft from Boeing. The aircraft is a Boeing 737-800 aircraft delivered to a Chinese airline. “The delivery of our 250th aircraft from Boeing speaks to the close cooperation that has characterized our two companies,” said Robert Martin, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of BOC Aviation. Boeing delivers 202 aircraft to China in 2017, sixth consecutive year of 140+ deliveries Boeing announced it delivered 202 aircraft to China in 2017, marking a new record for the manufacturer and the sixth consecutive year that deliveries to China have exceeded 140 in a single year. Deliveries to China accounts for 26% of Boeing's global delivery of 763 aircraft. "The record-setting deliveries and evolving full-scale co-operation demonstrate that Boeing is deeply rooted in China and supporting the sustainable development of China's aviation industry in aspects of security, capacity, and efficiency," said John Bruns, president of Boeing China. On average one of every three Boeing 737 are delivered to China. China's aircraft AG600 completes second flight China's first domestic-built large amphibious aircraft, the AG600, completed its second trial flight in south China's Guangdong Province last week. The aircraft AG600, codenamed "Kunlong," successfully finished all tests during the 73-minute flight according to China Aviation Industry General Aircraft Co. Ltd. The next step, researchers will continue to test and optimize the aircraft's performances during trial flights. Hainan Airlines Named the Cleanest Transpacific Airline Recently, The International Council on Clean Energy (ICCT) released their new study on fuel-efficiency for 20 airlines operating nonstop flights between the mainland United States, East Asia and Oceania in 2016. China's Hainan Airlines and Japan's All Nippon Airways ranked the first in efficiency performance. Hainan Airline's high performance reflects its use of Boeing's fuel-efficient aircraft: Dreamliner 787. Of Hainan's 3,200 transpacific flights, covering 9 bases in America and accounting for 14 US-China routes in total, the carrier used Dreamliner 787 for over 80% of these flights. The company currently owns the most US-China routes as well as the biggest fleet of Dreamliner 787, with the total number of 26 aircraft. The airline been exploring other strategies for green travel and sustainable development. HondaJet China Holds Opening Ceremony At Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport Honda Aircraft Company announced 26 January that HondaJet China held an event to celebrate their new FBO facilities' opening at the business jet terminal being constructed in Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, Guangzhou, China. Honda Aircraft Company President & CEO Michimasa Fujino added, "We are pleased for HondaJet China to open today as a dealer in and around China.  With the strong partnership of Honsan Group, we believe HondaJet's business will experience successful growth in this emerging aviation market. The high speed, superior fuel efficiency and exceptional comfort of the HondaJet creates unique value in this region." Milestone Places Eight AW139s with China's Kingwing Milestone Aviation Group announced 22 Janayr the delivery and lease of eight Leonardo AW139 medium twins to Shanghai Kingwing Aviation. The medium twin-engine AW139s will join Kingwing’s existing fleet of 32 helicopters that provide emergency medical services (EMS) in China and will facilitate expanded services to 22 provinces nationwide.
