Air China Net Profits up 1.33% in 2018 Air China saw its net profits edge up 1.33% in 2018 to 7.34 billion yuan (US1.1 billion), according to a company statement. The carrier reported operating revenue climbed 12.7% to 136.77 billion yuan last year. The airline achieved "relatively good" financial results despite the adverse effect of higher oil prices and a weaker yuan, according to the statement China-Developed ARJ21 Regional Aircraft Realizes 10,000 Flight Hours China-developed ARJ21 regional airplanes have realized a total of 10,000 safety flight hours in commercial operation as of the end of March, according to Chengdu Airlines. By the end of March, the fleet of ARJ21 airplanes have carried around 320,000 passengers shuttling around Chinese cities, said Chengdu Airlines. Based in Chengdu in Southwest China's Sichuan province, Chengdu Airlines launched the ARJ21 aircraft. China Eastern Airlines deploys A350-900 on Shanghai-Sydney service China Eastern Airlines via its official Weibo account, announced it deployed A350-900 aircraft on Shanghai Pudong-Sydney Kingsford Smith route on 31 March reported Blue Swan Daily. China Southern Airlines to Improve Air Routes for Shenyang China Southern Airlines announced it is going to improve its air routes from the northeastern city of Shenyang. From March 31 to 26 October the airline will add three domestic routes, optimize five ones, and reopen three international routes in Shenyang. Three domestic routes -- including one from Shenyang-Lanzhou-Xishuangbanna , Shenyang-Qingdao-Beihai and Shenyang-Qingdao-Guilin will be launched to develop the tourism market of western and southern China. Macao Airport Records 17 Percent Passenger Increase in Macao International Airport (MIA) has handled more than 2.33 million passengers in the first quarter, representing 17 percent year-on-year growth. The airport said in a statement that the flight movements at MIA also recorded an increase of 17% year-on-year to over 18,000 movements in the first quarter. The daily average traffic of the airport reached 25,000 passengers and 205 flight movements. MIA added that with the continuous increase of air routes and new airlines entering the market, the markets of Chinese mainland, China's Taiwan region and Southeast Asia recorded increases of 28%, 4% and 14% respectively compared to same period of last year.
