Akasa Air completes 60 days of commercial operations

Akasa Air, India's newest start-up carrier, has successfully completed the first two months of its commercial operations using a fleet of six Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft flying to eight destinations on 11 non-stop routes, with 300 weekly flights by the end of October. Akasa Air Co-Founder, and Chief Commercial Officer said, “We are elated by the response we have received as we welcomed on board more than 100,000 passengers within just 60 days of operations. Further strengthening our domestic connectivity and catering to more flyers during the festive season, we are delighted to be able to add Delhi to our network and connect the capital city to the rapidly growing and vibrant cities of Bengaluru and Ahmedabad. By expanding our network with an aircraft arriving every 15 days, we aim to fulfil our goal of developing a strong pan-India presence and expect to operate 300 weekly flights by October end.”

First Airbus A321 Freighter is delivered to IndiGo

The first A321 Freighter formerly a passenger aircraft has been fully re-configured as a freighter, has been delivered to IndiGo in-house cargo subisdary CarGo. The Airbus A321F will transport goods including valuables, express shipments, perishables, general cargo, documents, and couriers will be among the domestic and international missions that the aircraft will fly. Castlelake Aviation Holdings (Ireland) Limited provided the aircraft to IndiGo for lease.IndiGo CarGo Chief Commercial Officer Mr Mahesh Malik said: “We are pleased to receive our first A321 freighter aircraft in 6E fleet. CarGo has always been a success story for us especially highlighted during the pandemic. The CarGo business brought in revenues when the scheduled commercial flights were at a standstill. Our partnership with the Airbus for Freighter programme will further help strengthen our business in the CarGo segment, and act as a strong engine of economic growth for the country. We remain optimistic on the future of Indian aviation, clearly, and the place of CarGo within it – and the expansion into a true freighter fleet is a testament of this confidence.”

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) launches Special Campaign 2.0 for Swachhta

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) launched the Government of India's Special Campaign 2.0 at its airports and establishments on October 2, 2022, with an emphasis on Swachhata, in keeping with the Hon'ble Prime Minister's goal of "Swachh Bharat." The Government of India has announced Special Campaign 2.0, which will run from October 2 through October 31, 2022, to emphasize the value of prompt reference disposal and a tidy workspace.

With 20 more weekly flights, Air India strengthens its connections to key UK & US Markets 

Twenty extra flights per week to Birmingham, London, and San Francisco have been announced by Air India. This is a part of the airline's ongoing effort to take back the top spot on the global aviation scene. Between October and December of , a phased introduction of the extra flights to these three international locations will commence with 5 extra weekly flights to Birmingham, 9 extra weekly flights to London, and 6 extra weekly flights to San Francisco. Air India will add more than 5,000 weekly seats. Air India CEO & MD Mr Campbell Wilson, said, “As Air India reinvents itself under the Vihaan.AI transformation programme, adding frequency and improving connectivity from major Indian cities to more international destinations is a significant focus. This sizeable frequency increase to the US and the UK, as well as the addition of new city pairs and improved aircraft cabin interiors, comes just 10 months after Air India’s acquisition by the Tata Group. It is a clear signal of our intent, and an early step towards a much bigger aspiration.”
