Air India to increase key hub frequencies The ET World reported 22 August Air India is to increase frequencies on a number of key city pairs including Ahmedabad to Pune and Mumbai to Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad and from Delhi to Ahmedabad,Bengaluru and Mumbai, operating a total of 24 additional flights as the carrier restores pre covid capacity to the network on a phased basis. Air India CEO & MD Campbell Wilson stated “This expansion bolsters connectivity between key metros, and improves connectivity between Air India`s domestic and international networks. Over the past six months, Air India has been working closely with our partners to return aircraft to service, and we are delighted that this effort is now bearing fruit.” Emirates to operate first A380 service to Bengaluru Emirates announced effective from 30th October it will become the first carrier to operate the Airbus A380 at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport operating EK568/569 daily in a three-class configuration, to meet high customer demand on route popular boosting capacity on by 45% compared to the Boeing 777 aircraft . The flight details are as follows EK568 departs Dubai 2125 arrives Bengaluru 0225. EK569 departs Bengaluru 0430 arrives Dubai 0710. Hans Airways announces Board Appointment Hans Airways, the new long-haul start up hybrid carrier preparing to launch its first route between Birmingham and Amritsar using an Airbus A330-200 aircraft announced the formal appointment of Baroness Usha Prashar CBE to its executive board with immediate effect. Indigo and Jetstar Partnership Commences The new partnership between IndiGo and Jetstar went live on 17 August opening increased connectivity options for passengers over Singapore and Indigo’s hubs at Bengaluru, Chennai,Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Tiruchirappalli using Jetstar connect booking engine system. IndiGo Chief Strategy and Revenue Officer Sanjay Kumar said “This strategic agreement will enable both airlines to tap into the rising demand for international travel, with the upcoming festive season. The partnership will enable customers to enjoy seamless connectivity between Jetstar and IndiGo and access to a wide variety of destinations across Asia Pacific. This partnership will also help us to expand our international connectivity to yet another continent through Jetstar’s network.” UDAN Delivers 5 years of connectivity success The Indian Ministry of Civil Aviation’s flagship program Regional Connectivity Scheme “UDAN” or  (UdeDeshkaAamNagrik) has completed 5 years of success since formal launch in April 2017. The program has created 140 airports including 2 waterports and 8 heilports operating 425 routes across the country. The vision is to create 220 destinations and 1000 routes by 2026 serving Tier 11 and Tier 111 cities. Minister of Civil Aviation Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia stated “The Success of RCS UDAN is a demonstration of the government’s commitment to  Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik’. It has played a great role in the transformation of Indian aviation industry. So far under this scheme, we have 425 routes aiming to go up to 1000 routes, 68 new airports aiming to touch 100 airports. In next 4 years we are expecting 40 crore travellers through Civil Aviation in India.
