AirAsia Malaysia Tracking Demand for International Flights, Reinstates Six Routes to India AirAsia Malaysia announced its monitoring demand for international flights as borders reopen globally, especially in the ASEAN region. AirAsia announced re-start routes to Bengaluru, Kolkata, Kochi, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Tiruchirappalli with 71 weekly flights expected by year-end with the airline hoping to achieve the pre-Covid capacity of more than 140 weekly services to and from India. Bangalore International Airport announces winners of hackathon Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), operator of Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru (BLR Airport) recently announced winners of the ‘BIAL Genie Hackathon’ in collaboration with Microsoft. Over 11,500 teams comprising developers and data scientists from across India participated in this challenge to design innovative solutions using Microsoft Azure services. The hackathon sought to unearth new innovations and solutions that will improve the end-to-end passenger experience at BLR Airport. India crosses 400,000 daily passenger-mark post Covid  The Union civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia announced India has crossed the record of over 400,000 daily passengers, the country’s highest since the onset of Covid-19 pandemic, Union civil minister terming it a “historic day” for the Ministry. India’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGAC) approves Chennai Airport taxiway straightening works The Directorate-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has finally given its approval to The straightening of “Bravo” taxiway at Chennai Airport, to ease airside congestion and flight delays. The event was inaugurated and led by Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia and the Minister of State for Civil Aviation Gen. (Dr). V.K. Singh (Retd). Over 900 officials of MoCA and its Attached organizations/PSU/Autonomous bodies participated in this mega event. Yoga Instructors from Morarji Desai Institute of Yoga were guiding the participants in performing various Yoga Asanas and Pranayama techniques as well as simultaneously stating their benefits. Vietjet to launch four more routes between India and Vietnam Vietjet has announced the launch of four new routes from Vietnam to India, including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Phu Quic to Mumbai and Phu Quoc to New Delhi. Vietjet Managing Director Dinh Viet Phuong stated “We are thrilled to continue connecting Vietnam with India, the country of 1.4 billion population via six direct routes and reenergise our operations right in the post pandemic environment.
