Cathay Pacific launches Asia’s first major Corporate Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Programme Cathay Pacific announced the formal launch of its pilot Corporate Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Programme, the first major programme of its kind in Asia. The programme provides corporate customers the opportunity to reduce their carbon footprint from business travel or airfreight by contributing to the use of SAF uplifted for the first time from Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) on Cathay Pacific flights. Cathay Pacific CEO Augustus Tang said “We continue to pioneer our industry’s move towards more substantial use of SAF, especially in Asia. Last year, we were among the first carriers in the world to announce a target of 10% SAF for our total fuel use by 2030. We have made significant progress since then and are pleased that uplifting SAF from HKIA is now a reality with the strong support of the local authorities and fuel suppliers.” China developed helicopter enters final phase of airworthiness certification The China developed AC352 mid-sized utility helicopter has entered the flight-test phase of the airworthiness certification process, according to the China Aviation Industry Corporation (AVIC). During this phase, the AC352 will carry out flight tests both to acquire its airworthiness certification and evaluate its functional reliability. This marks the final step for the new helicopter model to acquire its airworthiness certificate from the civil aviation authorities. FACC expands global service network, eyes growth in China market FACC announced it has signed a cooperation deal with parts distributor and service provider Leki Aviation. The company said growth opportunities are very high, particularly in the Aftermarket Services segment. The Chinese growth market is particularly attractive. Leki Aviation operates two branches there and, thanks to its proximity to major Chinese airlines, occupies an outstanding position in the largest and most important growth market in the aircraft industry. Whenever airlines need a spare part for one of their aircraft, they will in future rely on components produced by FACC. Sino Jet Takes Delivery of First Dassault Falcon 7X Business Jet Sino Jet has taken delivery of its first Dassault Falcon 7X. The aircraft was delivered to Sino Jet from Bordeaux via Dubai to its base in Shanghai, with the flight achieving 'carbon neutrality' by adopting low-carbon emission initiatives and the offsets of China Certified Emission Reductions (CCER).
