BLR Airport invites artists to submit entries for a Monumental Sculpture at the Forest Belt area in T2 Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) recently announced a programme inviting artists & art groups to submit proposals for a 20-meter-high monumental sculpture at the Forest Belt Area in the new Terminal 2. The Art Programme in T2 at BLR Airport will mirror two themes of Karnataka’s rich heritage and culture and Naurasa. The shortlisted proposal will be located at the forest belt area between the main terminal building and new boarding piers. Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya M. Scindia Flags Off 1st Flight Of Akasa Air From Mumbai To Ahmedabad The Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya M. Scindia and Minister of State for Civil Aviation Gen (Retd) V.K Singh on Sunday 7th August overseen virtually the  inaugural the first flight of Akasa Air (QP1101) from Mumbai to Ahmedabad . The aircraft departed at 1005 local from from Mumbai (T1) to Ahmedabad.  The carrier is planning to grow its fleet to 72 Boeing 737 MAX 8/8200 aircraft in next five years. The Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya M. Scindia  said “Over the last eight years India’s Civil Aviation industry has been completely transformed under the leadership of  PM Modi. Under UDAN scheme, we have 425 routes aiming to go up to 1000 routes, 68 new airports aiming to touch 100 airports. In next 4 years we are expecting 40 crore travellers through Civil Aviation in India. That day is not far when along with rail transport and road transport Civil Aviation will become the bulwark of the transportation in India.” Vistara inducts its Third Boeing 787-9, Increases European frequencies  Vistara announced more than a 100% increase in European frequencies to Frankfurt and Paris CDG as it gears up to receive its third Boeing 787-9 aircraft which has been leased recently. Effective from 30th October the carrier will operate 6x weekly flights between Delhi and Frankfurt, up from three times to six times weekly  and Delhi and Paris CDG goes up from twice to five times weekly. Vistara Chief Commercial Officer Mr. Deepak Rajawat said “Europe has been a key focus market for us since the very beginning, and we are glad that our customers appreciate our offerings on these long-haul routes. We have been wanting to ramp up frequencies on these sectors and we are delighted to be able to finally do that.” Delhi Airport's new T1 Smart Apron Activated for Operations  Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) announced has successfully commissioned 14 new Code C aircraft stands at the Delhi Airport, completing the project 10 weeks ahead of the scheduled . These stands are part of the expanded Apron for Terminal 1, under the Phase 3A airport expansion plan.
