AerCap posts $7.2 billion in 1Q 2017 financing transactions Dublin-based aircraft lessor AerCap signed $7.2 billion in financing transactions during the first quarter of 2017, eclipsing by $2.6 billion the company’s financing transactions for the full year of 2016. Avolon doubles its aircraft fleet after $10bn CIT deal Irish Aviation lessor Avolon had 565 aircraft on its books following its $10 billion purchase of rival CIT at the beginning of the month. In its Q1 update the Irish-based Chinese-owned leasing operation said that its fleet of owned and managed aircraft grew to 565, more than twice the 223 it had a year ago. DMS Europe turns its attention to aircraft leasing DMS Europe was launched in Dublin in 2008, originally offering governance services to fund managers. DMS Europe has continued to grow and develop a wide range of services to support the financial services industry throughout Europe, specifically to meet client demand. As a result, DMS Corrib, an affiliated entity, became a licensed TCSP in Ireland allowing DMS Europe to support a wide range of structured finance transactions for aircraft lessors. Finnair finalizes A350 XWB sale-and-leaseback deal with GECAS Finland flag carrier Finnair has completed a sale-and-leaseback agreement with GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) for one Airbus A350-900. The initial lease agreement term is 12 years, with extension options. Goshawk agree three aircraft deal with Aeroflot Dublin based aircraft lessor Goshawk announced 13 April it signed an agreement with Aeroflot for 3 Airbus A321 aircraft for delivery in 2017. This is Goshawk’s first deal with Aeroflot and also marks Goshawk’s first transaction in Russia. Intrepid Announces Delivery of 6th A330-300 to Turkish Airlines Intrepid Aviation announced 19 April the delivery of an A330-300 aircraft on long-term lease to Turkish Airlines. This marks the sixth of seven Rolls-Royce powered A330 aircraft to be delivered to the carrier. King & Wood Mallesons advises SkyCo’s Irish leasing platform’s inaugural transaction King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) acted for SkyCo International Financial Leasing Co. Ltd. (SkyCo), a rapidly growing Chinese leasing company partly owned by the Guangdong Airport Group, on the inaugural transaction by its Irish aircraft leasing platform. NAC delivered one Bombardier Dash 8-Q400, MSN 4339, to Hawaii Island Air, Inc. on lease Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) announced 19 April that it has delivered one Bombardier Dash 8-Q400, MSN 4339, to Hawaii Island Air, Inc. on lease.
