Atlas Air Worldwide Announces Expansion of Customer Flying Atlas Air announced 4th June the start of increased 777-200F CMI service for DHL Express, the addition of a third 747-400F for Asiana Cargo, and the beginning of a long-term, 747-400F charter program for one of the world’s largest technology companies. Aviation Capital Group Increases Unsecured Revolving Credit Facility to $2.0 Billion Aviation Capital Group LLC (ACG) announced 4th June the upsize, amendment and extension of its five-year unsecured revolving credit facility with JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A., as administrative agent, and the lenders named therein. Total commitments increased by $370 million, to approximately $2.0 billion, and the maturity date was extended to June 3, 2024. CFM56 Engine Fleet Surpasses One Billion Engine Flight Hours On April 24, 1982, the first-ever airplane powered by CFM56 engines, a Delta Air Lines DC-8-71 powered by the CFM56-2, took to the skies. In the years after that, CFM International would go on to add seven additional engine models that, today, power more than 20 different commercial and military aircraft types for more than 600 operators across the globe. ecently, the CFM56 fleet established a new world record by becoming the first aircraft engine family in aviation history to achieve one billion engine flight hours. Hawaiian Airlines Taps David LeNoir as Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis Hawaiian Airlines announced 8th June the appointment of David M. LeNoir Jr. as vice president of financial planning and analysis. He will lead all aspects of financial planning, forecasting and analysis, as well as oversee Hawaiian’s financial governance and capital budgeting processes. JetBlue Expands Service in South America with New Route between New York-JFK and Ecuador Operated by Airline’s New Airbus A321neo Aircraft JetBlue announced 6th June that its new and expanded Guayaquil service, with daily nonstop flights between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Guayaquil, Ecuador’s José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport (GYE) will launch the new service on December 5. The flights will operate daily and the new route will become the longest in the JetBlue network operated by Airbus A321Neo. La Compagnie’s first A321neo makes inaugural transatlantic flight The first single-aisle A321neo destined for La Compagnie, an exclusively business-class French airline operating scheduled transatlantic flights, commenced transatlantic services on 6 June from Paris Orly Airport to Newark Liberty International Airport. On lease from GECAS, La Compagnie’s A321neo is powered by CFM International LEAP 1A new generation engines and features a business class only cabin with 76 full flat seats. UAM Expands Management Team with new VP of Aircraft Trading Universal Asset Management announced 7th June the newest member of our team, Sean O’Connor, Vice President of Aircraft Trading. Jeff Sabo, Senior Vice President of UAM, stated, “I am very pleased to welcome Sean O’Connor as Vice President of Aircraft Trading.” Jeff as states, “His vast industry knowledge will further enhance the Business Development team, while critically driving the acquisition and trading of aircraft.” U.S. Department of Transportation Announces $840 Million in Infrastructure Grants to 381 Airports in 47 States U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Elaine L. Chao announced 5th June that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will award $840 million in airport infrastructure grants, the first allotment of the total $3.18 billion in Airport Improvement Program (AIP) funding for airports across the United States. “This significant investment in airport improvements will fund construction and rehabilitation projects that will help maintain high levels of safety in U.S. aviation,” said U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Elaine L.
