Aviation Capital Group (ACG) closes financing transaction

Aviation Capital Group announced the closing of its sale of $600 million aggregate principal amount of 6.250% senior unsecured notes due 2028  The lessor intends to use the net proceeds from the notes for general corporate purposes, including repayment of outstanding indebtedness and the purchase of commercial aircraft.

De Havilland Canada Enhances Fokker Services Strategic Partnership

De Havilland Aircraft announced that it has entered into a new agreement with Fokker Services extending the existing De Havilland Component Solutions arrangement for an additional five-year term through December 2027. Fokker Services will continue to offer their expertise and services during this extended period.

Global Crossing Airlines Announces 3 year summer season agreement with TUI Netherlands

Global Crossing Airlines Group announced the signing of an ACMI wet lease agreement to operate two (2) Airbus A320 aircraft  for TUI Airlines Netherlands for use in its European summer programs. GlobalX will provide Amsterdam based aircraft and qualified crews to TUI for peak season flying in July and August 2023 as well as in 2024 and 2025. Global X Chairman & CEO Ed Wegel said “We are honored to fly for TUI, one of the great airlines of Europe over the next three (3) summer seasons. We greatly appreciate their confidence in us to be able to fly their valued customers to their summer vacations.”

Mexico-based Aeronaves T.S.M. S.A. de C.V. (TSM) orders 6 AEI CRJ200 freighter conversions

Aeronautical Engineers Inc (AEI) announced Mexico-based Aeronaves T.S.M. S.A. de C.V. (TSM) has ordered an additional six CRJ200 freighter conversions. The modifications for all the aircraft are being performed by Commercial Jet, in Dothan, Alabama. The first CRJ200 of this order has already commenced modification and will be completed in June 2023. The remaining aircraft will follow with all CRJ200 completed by June 2024.

Sun Country Airlines adds Boeing 737-900ER

Sun Country Airlines announced it will acquire five Boeing 737-900ERs in late 2024 and 2025. The carrier will acquire current leases for the five aircraft which will remain on lease to Oman Air until the leases begin to expire in late 2024 and through 2025. Sun Country will take delivery of one aircraft in late 2024 and the other four throughout 2025.  Sun Country CEO Jude Bricker said “The 737-900ER will be a great addition to our fleet, relative to our 737-800 aircraft, it will increase the number of seats without a reduction in range or take-off performance. This transaction demonstrates our ability to find creative ways to source the right aircraft in any market environment.”
