Alaska Airlines adds 12 new destinations in 2020 from LAX

Alaska Airlines announced seven new routes from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to further connect Southern California to key domestic markets. The new routes to Florida (Fort Myers and Tampa); Hawaii (Kona and Lihue); Montana (Bozeman) and Oregon (Eugene and Medford) commence on 1st October for the Oregon markets, and between 2o November and 18 December for the remaining destinations. Brett Catlin, Alaska Airlines managing director of capacity planning and alliances said “LAX is one of Alaska's important hub markets and continues to offer valuable opportunities for selective expansion. The addition of these 12 new routes from LAX along with our upcoming membership in the oneworld alliance sets the stage for future growth."

ATSG’s PEMCO Receives FAA Approval for its Boeing 737-700 FlexCombi™ Conversion Program

Air Transport Services Group announced that the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration has approved its Passenger-to-FlexCombi™ conversion program for the Boeing 737-700 Next Generation aircraft. ATSG said the FAA issued a Supplemental Type Certification for its unique conversion design for the Boeing 737-700, offering customers two different main-deck freight and passenger configurations as well as full-freighter mode. The aircraft will be marketed as B737-700FC (FlexCombi™). The launch customer for the PEMCO B737-700FC is Bahrain-based Chisholm Enterprises. Its subsidiary Texel Air, a non-scheduled cargo airline, will operate the B737-700FC from Bahrain International Airport.

GA Telesis Announces the Purchase of Eight (8) PW4056 Engines from Delta Material Services

GA Telesis LLC announced the purchase of eight (8) Pratt & Whitney PW4056-3 engines from Delta Material Services all of which were last operated by Delta Air Lines (DAL). The transaction was recently concluded by the Component Solutions Group (CSG), whereas the engines will be immediately inducted for disassembly and repair. Upon completion, the used serviceable material (USM) will be made available to GA Telesis’ airline and MRO customers worldwide within the next three months.

GA Telesis MRO Services Group Announces E-Jet Support and Services Agreement with Liebherr-Aerospace

GA Telesis announced its MRO Services Group has entered into an agreement with Liebherr-Aerospace for Material Support and Maintenance Services for the E-Jet Family of aircraft. Under this agreement, the company receives technical support and original OEM materials to repair and overhaul landing gears for operators in the Americas. The landing gear repairs and overhauls for this aircraft type will be carried out in the MRO Services Miami facility.

Global Crossing Airlines Acquires First A320 Aircraft and Retains Market-Making Services

Global Crossing Airlines Inc announced that it has signed a letter of intent to acquire by purchase one Airbus A320-200 aircraft. The specific aircraft data for the Aircraft has now been incorporated into the GlobalX manual set which has now been submitted to the FAA under Phase 2 of GlobalX's certification. Additional details regarding the Aircraft will be provided in the near term.

Tim Strauss to Become CEO of Amerijet International, Inc.

Amerijet International, Inc announced that Tim Strauss will join as its Chief Executive Officer effective 17 August based at the airline’s headquarters in Miami, FL. Tim is presently responsible for Air Canada’s cargo business and brings a deep air cargo background to the position, having also worked at Northwest/Delta Cargo, Hawaiian Airlines Cargo, and Emery Worldwide. He has considerable experience in both the commercial and operational areas of the air cargo business. Vic Karjian, Amerijet’s current CEO, will become Executive Chairman of Amerijet and will focus his efforts on the company’s strategic planning, key partnerships and growth objectives.
