Austrian Airlines announces return of it Montreal service Austrian Airlines will restore the Vienna-Montreal route to its long-haul portfolio effective from 1st October . Austrian previously operated the route from April 2019 to March 2020 before it was suspended due to the Corona pandemic. The largest French-speaking city in North America will be served year-round three times a week by a Boeing 767 with a seating capacity of 211 seats. Boeing forecasts $9 trillion aerospace market opportunities in commercial, defense and services over next decade Boeing released its annual forecast for the commercial, defense and space aerospace market, reflecting signs of the industry's recovery following the impacts of COVID-19. The 2021 Boeing Market Outlook (BMO) – Boeing's analysis of long-term market dynamics – states that commercial airplanes and services are showing signs of recovery, while the global defense, space and government services markets have remained stable. The BMO projects a $9 trillion market over the next decade for aerospace products and services that Boeing addresses. The forecast is up from $8.5 trillion a year ago, and up from $8.7 trillion in the pre-pandemic 2019 forecast, reflecting the market's continued recovery progress. EXIM Renews Supply Chain Finance Guarantee of $180 Million Purchase Facility Supporting Sales of CFM International Aircraft Engines The Board of Directors of the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) approved the renewal of a 90 percent guarantee of a $180 million purchase facility under EXIM’s Supply Chain Finance Guarantee Program. The transaction will support aircraft engines sales from CFM International, Inc., in Cincinnati, Ohio, to The Boeing Company for use in exports. GOL and American Airlines Upgrade to Exclusive Codeshare Agreement GOL has agreed to expand its commercial cooperation with American Airlines Group Inc through an exclusive codeshare agreement for the next three years that will deepen the relationship between the two airlines. As part of the Agreement, GOL will receive an equity investment of US$200 million (R$1.05 billion) from American. Through its exclusivity, the Agreement expands beyond the terms of the existing codeshare partnership between GOL and American, enhancing the travel opportunities for their passengers, the customer experience and the competitive position of GOL on routes connecting North and South America. Southwest Announces Leadership Changes Southwest Airlines announced the following leadership changes. Tom Nealon, 60, has decided to retire from his duties as President effective immediately, but will continue to serve the Company as a strategic advisor, focusing primarily on the airline's environmental sustainability and carbon emissions reduction plan. Chief Operating Officer Mike Van de Ven, 59, has been named as the Company's President, effective immediately. Van de Ven will take on the additional responsibilities of the Company's Internal Audit, Business Continuity, Emergency Response, and Enterprise Risk Management functions. The WestJet Group announces Harry Taylor as interim President and CEO The WestJet Group announced that Harry Taylor will assume the interim role of President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with a transition period taking place between late November and mid-December 2021. Current CEO Ed Sims announced his retirement on June 9, 2021. While Harry serves as interim CEO, Jennifer Bue, WestJet’s current Vice-President, Finance Planning & Analysis will serve as interim CFO. Vic Karjian to Serve as Interim CEO of Amerijet International, Inc. Vic Karjian, Amerijet International, Inc.'s Executive Chairman, will become the Interim Chief Executive Officer of Amerijet effective 18 September 18.
