American Airlines and JetBlue Begin Growth from New York and Boston with 33 New Routes, Joint Schedules and Codeshare Flights American Airlines and JetBlue are delivering on their promise to introduce better travel choices on routes to and from New York (JFK, LGA and EWR) and Boston (BOS), as they launch nearly 80 codeshare flights and enhanced schedules on key routes. American is also introducing 18 new routes beginning this summer, including six new routes from JFK to Latin America and the Caribbean. American will also launch 12 new domestic routes, from New York (JFK and LGA) and Boston (BOS) and will launch three new daily routes from JFK to Colombia – Cali (CLO), Bogota (BOG) and Medellin (MDE). Eastern Airlines plans fleet expansion to 18 aircraft Eastern Airlines has applied for US DOT approval to increase its total fleet to 18 aircraft and to use eight aircraft for scheduled operations. Specifically, Eastern has purchased two B777-200ER aircraft and intends to enter these two aircraft into commercial service during 2Q 2021 once FAA certification is approved. In addition, Eastern will be leasing two B777-200 freighters to operate ACMI charters. Eastern expects the certification process for the B777s to be completed on or before 01 April 2021. Global Crossing Airlines Signs Cooperation Agreement with Estelar Airlines Global Crossing Airlines announce that it has signed a cooperation agreement with Estelar Airlines based in Caracas, Venezuela under the terms of the Agreement, the two airlines will work closely to re-establish daily non-stop service from Miami to Caracas and three flights per week to Maracaibo, with GlobalX Airbus A320 aircraft. Mesa Air Group Announces New Senior Vice President of Finance Mesa Air Group announced Torque Zubeck as its new Senior Vice President of Finance. Zubeck brings 20 years of industry experience and will help oversee the company's financials and report directly to President and Chief Financial Officer, Michael Lotz. Jonathan Ornstein, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer said “We are excited to welcome Torque to Mesa. His experience with the operational aspects of the business coupled with his finance background will make him an invaluable addition.” Transat A.T. Inc. announces extension of its $250 million loan facility Transat A.T. Inc announced that it has extended the termination date of its $250 million short-term loan facility by three months. The facility had been arranged on October 10, 2020, with Export Development Canada and National Bank of Canada as lead arranger. United Announces Plans to Begin New Daily Nonstop Service Between Boston Logan and London Heathrow United Airlines announced plans to expand its global route network with new, nonstop service between Boston Logan International Airport and London Heathrow. This new service builds upon United's growing presence in London and provides customers on the East Coast with another convenient option to get to London. United plans to operate its premium Boeing 767-300ER aircraft on the route, with 46 United Polaris Business Class and 22 United Premium Plus seats. The aircraft features the highest proportion of premium seats on any widebody aircraft operated by a U.S. carrier between London and the United States.
