AEI Delivers 100th B737-400SF Freighter Conversion Aeronautical Engineers, Inc. (AEI) announced 22 January it has reached yet another noteworthy milestone by delivering the 100th B737-400SF freighter conversion. The re-delivery honor goes to Dublin, Ireland-based ASL Aviation with the 11-pallet position B737-400SF (MSN 25097). “This milestone represents another important achievement in AEI’s history,” said Roy Sandri, AEI President. “The AEI B737-400SF has been an exceptionally successful freighter for not only ASL, but for all of our leasing and operator customers world-wide.” Air Lease Corporation Announces the Placement of Two New Airbus A321-200s with Frontier Airlines Air Lease Corporation announced 22 January long term lease agreements with Frontier Airlines for two new Airbus A321-200s. These aircraft are from ALC’s order book with Airbus and will deliver in the fourth quarter of 2018. This agreement follows two new A320-200s delivered from ALC to the airline in 2016. Airlines for America Paper Examines Jet Fuel Distribution and Logistics in the United States Airlines for America (A4A), the industry trade organization for the leading U.S. airlines, 23 January issued a white paper on the transportation of jet fuel from refineries to airports, appealing to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC)The federal agency with jurisdiction over, among other things, interstate natural-gas pricing, oil pipeline. Aviation Capital Group Takes Delivery of its First Boeing 737 MAX Aircraft Aviation Capital Group announced 24 January it has taken delivery of its first Boeing 737 MAX in Seattle, Washington. The aircraft, a 737 MAX 8 variant, is on a long-term lease to Aerolineas Argentinas, Argentina’s flag carrier, and is the first of three 737 MAX 8 aircraft to be delivered from ACG’s orderbook to Aerolineas Argentinas. ACG has ordered a total of 80 737 MAX aircraft from Boeing. Boeing's 787-10 Dreamliner Cleared for Commercial Service by Federal Aviation Administration Boeing announced 22 January the 787-10 Dreamliner received an amended type certificate (ATC) from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), clearing the airplane for commercial service. The awarding of ATC caps a successful flight test program that began in March 2017 and involved three flight test airplanes that accumulated about 900 test hours. Boeing's flight test program team took the airplanes through a series of tests to confirm the airplane's handling, systems and overall performance met internal requirements and certification standards to ensure safety of flight. Delta statement on ITC ruling in Boeing/Bombardier C Series matter Delta is pleased by the U.S. International Trade Commission's ruling rejecting Boeing's anticompetitive attempt to deny U.S. airlines and the U.S. traveling public access to the state-of-the-art 110-seat CS100 aircraft when Boeing offers no viable alternative. The airline looks forward to introducing the innovative CS100 to its fleet for the benefit of Delta's employees, customers and shareowners. Emirates to launch non-stop Dubai-Newark service with a second daily flight from 1 June Emirates will introduce a new non-stop service between Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and Dubai from 1 June 2018, adding to its existing daily flight which operates with a stop in Athens, Greece. The new service will be operated with an Emirates Boeing 777-300ER, offering 8 suites in First Class, 42 seats in Business, 306 in Economy Class, and 19 tonnes of cargo capacity. Triumph Partners with Boeing to Expand 767 Production Role Triumph Group, Inc announced 22 January the signatory of an agreement with Boeing to provide major structural assemblies for the 767 program. The work contracted to Triumph Aerospace Structures includes the production of horizontal stabilizers, doors, aft fuselage and center wing sections for both the 767 freighter and KC-46A Tanker variants. Triumph Wins New 737 MAX Content and Extends Boeing 787 Dreamliner Contract Triumph Group was recently selected by Boeing to supply highly engineered components used for applications on the 787 Dreamliner and 737 MAX programs.
