Acumen’s Take
On K2 Aviation’s First Platform Deal
K2’s entry into the lessor space with a six-aircraft deal signals a strong debut backed by solid institutional support. Diversification across geographies and lessees like Air Transat and Volotea provides a resilient foundation, while appointing DAE as servicer ensures operational continuity. This is a textbook entry strategy that de-risks initial portfolio exposure.
On Titan’s Freighter Focus
Titan’s A330-300P2F acquisition reflects increasing market appetite for mid-capacity widebody freighters. The type’s long-haul capability and growing demand for converted freighters post-COVID make it an attractive asset. Partnering with mas positions Titan well in the Latin American express and general cargo space.
On Priority 1 Leasing’s Move into Shannon
Shannon continues to reinforce its global relevance as a launchpad for emerging leasing platforms. Priority 1’s entry, backed by ACMI ambitions, indicates growing interest in hybrid leasing models blending operations with asset ownership—a trend especially popular among charter-focused operators.
On AFG’s Engine Acquisition
AFG’s move to acquire GE CF6-80E1A4/B engines supports the aftermarket demand for Airbus A330 platforms, particularly among operators transitioning older widebody fleets. Engines remain a strong performing asset class, and mid-life modules like the CF6 are proving resilient in the secondary trading market.
