Brazil Approves American Airlines’ Investment In Azul
Brazil’s antitrust regulator CADE has approved American Airlines’ investment in Azul, giving the U.S. carrier an approximately 8% minority stake in the Brazilian airline. The approval is subject to compliance with a Merger Control Agreement and strengthens American’s strategic position in the Brazil-U.S. aviation market.
FAA Approves JetBlue’s Acquisition Of Former Spirit Slots At LaGuardia
The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration has approved JetBlue Airways’ acquisition of 22 former Spirit Airlines slots at New York LaGuardia Airport. The carrier acquired the slots through Spirit’s bankruptcy auction, with restrictions on leasing or trading them until after April 2028.
