EirTrade Aviation Acquires A320 and Boeing 737-800 Airframes
EirTrade Aviation has acquired an Airbus A320-200 previously operated by Royal Jordanian and a Boeing 737-800 formerly operated by Nok Air. Both aircraft are due to undergo immediate disassembly at the company’s facility at Ireland West Airport Knock. EirTrade has also recently secured authorisations from the Bailiwick of Guernsey (2-REG), the Civil Aviation Authority of the Cayman Islands (CAACI, VP-C) and the Bermuda Civil Aviation Authority (BCAA, VP-B), supporting aircraft operations, transitions, parking and storage at the Knock facility.
flydubai Boeing 737 MAX 9 Delivered via Shannon
flydubai has taken delivery of Boeing 737 MAX 9 A6-FND, MSN 66574, configured with 172 seats across two classes. The aircraft travelled from Boeing Field in Seattle to Dubai via Shannon between 31 August and 2 September 2026. The delivery brings flydubai’s Boeing 737 fleet to 98 aircraft, comprising 26 737-800s, 68 737 MAX 8s and four 737 MAX 9s, supporting a network of more than 120 destinations across 56 countries.
Aer Lingus Operates One-Time Dublin–Brussels A330 Service
Aer Lingus operated a one-off Dublin–Brussels service on 9 September 2026 using two-class, 317-seat Airbus A330-302 EI-EDY, msn 1025, instead of the usual 174-seat Airbus A320-200. The higher-capacity aircraft was deployed amid increased demand linked to meetings associated with Ireland’s EU Presidency. The operation also highlighted the A330-300’s flexibility across both short- and long-haul routes.
Ethiopian Airlines Takes Delivery of Two Boeing 737-8s via Dublin
Ethiopian Airlines has taken delivery of two new Boeing 737-8 aircraft, both routing through Dublin on their delivery flights from Boeing Field to Addis Ababa. ET-BCR, msn 43576, was delivered between 26 and 27 August 2026, while ET-BCS, msn 43577, followed the same routing between 27 and 29 August 2026.

Wizz Air Malta Airbus A321-271NX 9H-XLG, MSN 13123, ex D-AVYO, was delivered from Hamburg to Rome Fiumicino on 14 September 2026.
SWISS Airbus A350-941 HB-IFC Delivered to Zurich
SWISS Airbus A350-941 HB-IFC, MSN 794, ex F-WZHD, was delivered from Toulouse to Zurich on 12 September 2026.

airBaltic Files for Chapter 11 Financial Restructuring While Flights Continue
airBaltic has voluntarily initiated Chapter 11 proceedings in the US to restructure its financial obligations, with the airline and certain subsidiaries filing with the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. The process is intended to provide protection from creditor claims while airBaltic restructures debt and other obligations, including agreements with aircraft lessors. The airline said flights will continue as scheduled, while tickets, reservations, refunds, vouchers and customer credits remain valid under existing policies.
Emirates Enters Winter with Strong Demand as Expansion Continues
Emirates carried more than 8.6 million passengers during July and August 2026, performing above expectations while maintaining load factors above 75 percent across several regions. The airline is operating at around 93 percent of its pre-disruption capacity and reports encouraging winter bookings, particularly from South Africa, Brazil, India, Portugal, Egypt, Ghana, Colombia, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.

Neuberger Specialty Finance has partnered with a group of aviation finance executives to launch New Bridge AeroFinance, a lending platform targeting an initial aerospace debt portfolio of more than 2 billion dollars. New Bridge Aero will originate and acquire loans and other debt instruments for funds managed by Neuberger Specialty Finance, covering aircraft as well as the wider aviation and aerospace ecosystem.
Christchurch Airport Reports Strongest-Ever Financial Result
Christchurch Airport has reported its strongest-ever financial result, with growth across all segments. The airport serves New Zealand’s South Island, a geographically isolated market with a population of around 1.26 million, where passenger growth has historically been constrained despite strong tourism appeal. The market also continues to reflect the longer-term recovery from New Zealand’s extended pandemic-era border restrictions.
Young A320neo and 737 MAX Aircraft Enter Dismantling Programmes
More than 10 Airbus A320neo and Boeing 737 MAX-family aircraft are set to be dismantled during 2026 as strong demand for spare parts changes the economics of relatively young aircraft. TARMAC Aerosave will process the aircraft for AerFin, with further projects already being prepared for 2027. Unlike older aircraft traditionally sent for teardown, the A320neo and 737 MAX are current-generation narrowbodies for which new-aircraft delivery positions can involve waits of eight years or more.
ABX Air to Launch A330-300P2F CMI Service for Amazon
ABX Air, a subsidiary of ATSG, will launch Airbus A330-300P2F CMI operations for Amazon in 2027, becoming the second carrier to operate the type for the company. A 2011-built A330-300P2F, MSN 1269 and formerly operated by Thai Airways, is expected to join the ABX fleet during the first quarter of 2027.

Global Jet Capital’s latest Business Jet Market Forecast projects 247 billion dollars in combined new and pre-owned business jet transaction volume between 2026 and 2030. Business jet transactions increased 15.5 percent year on year in 2025, with actual market performance exceeding the company’s previous forecast and supporting a more optimistic outlook for the coming years.
New Zealand CAA Approves Navair for Expanded Charter Access
Sydney-based charter operator Navair has received approval from the New Zealand Civil Aviation Authority to operate into 13 New Zealand airports without the previous frequency restrictions. Navair had previously been limited to four charter flights per year, with a minimum 28-day interval between flights.

Aoife O’Leary Claims Dublin Airport Is on Course to Exhaust Its Carbon Budget
Aoife O’Leary has claimed that Dublin Airport could exhaust what she considers its fair share of the carbon budget by 2034, 16 years ahead of the 2050 target. She said further expansion could increase annual emissions by more than 65 percent and has called for the 32 million passenger cap to remain in place. O’Leary also criticised provisions in the Dublin Airport (Passenger Capacity) Bill 2026 and recommended aligning airport capacity with carbon budgets alongside the introduction of aviation fuel taxes.
Shannon Airport Receives Approval to Repurpose Disused Restaurant
Shannon Airport has received approval to repurpose disused restaurant and bar areas as part of wider terminal development plans. A 15 million euro project will replace a section dating from the 1970s with a new curved exterior, with completion scheduled for May 2027. The airport has also introduced C3 security scanners allowing liquids in containers of up to two litres and has received 1.93 million euro under the Regional Airports Programme 2026–2030.
Aer Lingus App Introduces New Day-of-Travel and Passenger Features
Aer Lingus has introduced a multi-million euro upgrade to its mobile app, adding real-time flight tracking, airport wayfinding and improved trip management features. Passengers can view live flight updates on their device lock screen, access indoor navigation at hubs including Dublin Airport and New York JFK, and manage trip extras and bag-tag receipts through the redesigned My Trips section. The app also integrates AerClub, allowing users to check Avios balances, tier credits and status, and use points for reward bookings.
Belfast City Airport Runway Run Raises 35,000 Pounds
Belfast City Airport hosted Air Ambulance Northern Ireland’s annual 5K Runway Run on 9 September, with 500 participants taking part in the sold-out event. The run raised 35,000 pounds for the emergency medical service, enough to support four days of operations and potentially help save eight lives. Adrian Martin was the first finisher in 17 minutes and two seconds, while Zoe Kilpatrick was the first female finisher in 20 minutes and 56 seconds.
Dublin Flights Continue as airBaltic Begins Chapter 11 Financial Reorganisation
airBaltic has said its flights to Ireland and across Europe will continue as scheduled after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the US as part of a financial restructuring aimed at reducing debt. The Latvian carrier operates a daily service between Dublin Airport and its Riga hub. The airline, in which the Latvian government holds a majority stake, has secured a commitment for 350 million euro in debtor-in-possession financing from Strategic Value Partners, Barclays, Hayfin Capital Management, Morgan Stanley and Oaktree Capital Management.
Former Go First Airbus A320neo Ferried to Dublin After Return to Lessor
Former Go First Airbus A320neo 2-MSLC, MSN 9218, has been ferried to Dublin following its return to lessor Minsheng Financial Leasing. The Airbus A320-271N departed Lourdes on 1 September 2026 and arrived in Dublin at 11:55 AM local time, still carrying its former Go First livery. The aircraft was originally delivered to GoAir as VT-WJM on 28 July 2020, with the airline rebranding as Go First on 13 May 2021, before the aircraft entered commercial service on 10 August 2021.
Former Spirit Airlines Airbus A320 Family Aircraft Arrive in Dublin
Three former Spirit Airlines Airbus A320-family aircraft have arrived in Dublin still wearing full Spirit livery, joining a fourth former Spirit aircraft already undergoing maintenance with Dublin Aerospace at Dublin Airport. The latest arrivals comprise one A320ceo and two A320neos. They join OE-IED, an Airbus A320-271N, MSN 11103, which was previously registered as N961NK.
