Cathay Pacific Enhances Passenger Experience

CAAC to increase aircraft stand efficiency

The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) held a collaborative stakeholder conference with the aim to the usage rates of contact stands at airports with an annual passenger throughput of over 10 million passengers annually. The CAAC Department of Airport shared Assessment Measures for Usage Rates of Contact Stands and Guidance on Improving the Usage Rates of Contact Stands with the plan to initially focus on China North region.

 

Cathay Pacific Enhances Passenger Experience

Cathay Pacific announced further enhancement of its passenger experience with the launch of new contemporary range of plant-based dishes developed in collaboration with leading Hong Kong-based plant-forward restaurant, VEDA by Ovolo. The service will be available in economy class and premium economy on selected long-haul flights. Cathay Pacific General Manager Customer Experience and Design Vivian Lo said “It gives us great pleasure to announce this new partnership with VEDA, a Hong Kong restaurant that shares our commitment to providing fantastic cuisine while also being more sustainable. For Cathay, the difference is in the detail. We know inflight dining is something that is extremely important to our customers, and we carefully work with partners to bring them memorable experiences by sourcing ingredients, designing menus, and preparing dishes with great attention to detail.”

 

Delta Airlines expands China routes capacity

Delta Airlines announced expansion of winter capacity to China later this year, offering 10 weekly flights to Shanghai-Pudong International Airport from its Detroit (3 weekly) and Seattle (daily) hubs commencing 29 October, offering connectivity throughout China with the airlines’s partnership with China Eastern Airlines. Delta Vice President - Asia Pacific Jeff Moomaw, said “As demand continues to increase and the busy travel season to the Asia-Pacific region commences, the Delta team is ready to welcome even more travellers to the region this winter, providing our award-winning customer service on every journey.”

 

Etihad Cargo operates first international service to Ezhou

Etihad Cargo became the first carrier to operate international service to Ezhou Huahu Airport Located in the Hubei Province of China on 18 August operated by a Boeing 777F aircraft. The airport was as developed as Asia's first and the world's fourth professional cargo airport with plans for significant growth by 2025. Etihad Cargo Head of Revenue Management, Fleet and Network Leonard Rodrigues said "Offering connectivity to China's five national-level city clusters via railway, waterway, expressway and air transportation infrastructure, Ezhou Huahu Airport is the region's first dedicated, professional cargo airport. The commencement of a weekly freighter service between Abu Dhabi and Ezhou opens up new interline opportunities with Etihad Cargo's partner SF Airlines and will enable the carrier to further expand its reach into the Chinese market, which is a key region to the airline and Etihad Cargo's customers and partners. The state-of-the-art facilities and smart technology available in the airport represent the future of air cargo, and Etihad Cargo is fully committed to achieving mutual growth and strengthening ties between the UAE and China, building on the success of this new route."
