AirAsia flights at Mumbai airport to operate from Terminal 2 AirAsia India will operate from Terminal 2 at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai effective from 21st April. The transfer of domestic operations to Terminal 2 will take place as per the directives laid out by Mumbai International Airport to reconsolidate all domestic flights from Terminal 1. GMR Group launches AeroCity spread over 1,500 acres around Hyderabad Airport The GMR Group announced the launch of GMR AeroCity in Hyderabad, spread over 1,500 acres in the city's suburbs in Shamshabad. The AeroCity, with the Hyderabad international airport at its core, will include various establishments like Business Park, Retail Park, Aerospace and Industrial Park, Logistics Park, rental accommodations, hospitality, schools, healthcare, leisure and entertainment facilities. IndiGo reconfirms its trust in Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance for its Airbus A320 Fleet component support AFI KLM E&M and IndiGo have signed an agreement to extend their component support contract covering over 350 aircraft. The range of services to be delivered by AFI KLM E&M includes component repairs, dedicated pool access, provision of a Main Base Kit (MBK) at the hub of IndiGo‘s airline operations in Delhi, as well as logistics support. IndiGo Chief Operating Officer & President Wolfgang Prock-Schauer said “We are delighted to continue our cooperation with a world leader in aircraft maintenance services. The high standard of support already provided by AFI KLM E&M over many years, together with their unique expertise on the A320 product both as an airline and MRO, convinced us to continue placing our trust in them.” Indian Government Lowers Jet Fuel Prices By 1% Jet fuel price on Friday was cut by 1% following softening international crude oil prices. Aviation turbine fuel (ATF) price was reduced by Rs 568.88 per kilolitre, or 0.9 per cent, to Rs 57,805.28 per kilolitre in the national capital, according to a price notification of state-owned fuel retailers. India-UAE one of the top busiest international routes in the world New Delhi-Dubai and Mumbai-Dubai are currently the third and eight busiest international routes in the world respectively, according to the latest traffic data for the month of April released by OAG. India-UAE country pair has been the second busiest international route in the world from January, but in April it’s likely to have taken the top slot, what with 2.6 lakh seats in total to be flown by airlines between these two Indian cities and Dubai. SpiceXpress Launches Scheduled Cargo Flight Services Connecting Mumbai, Delhi With Bangkok SpiceXpress launched scheduled cargo flights connecting Mumbai and Delhi with Bangkok using Boeing 737-800F aircraft on these routes operating twice weekly. In an statement the airline said “These flights will help in regular transportation of auto parts, perishables including fruits, vegetables and sea food, electronic items etc.” SpiceJet, B Medical Systems to open pharma logistics centres at Indian airports The Luxembourg-based pharma cold chain solutions provider, B Medical Systems, has announced the signing of an agreement with SpiceXpress, the cargo arm of Spicejet, to open pharma logistics centres of excellence at Indian airports to facilitate transportation of vaccines, pharma preparation and biological specimens.
