Air Canada Announces Retirement of CFO Amos Kazzaz

Air Canada announced that Amos Kazzaz, Executive Vice President, and Chief Financial Officer, will retire on 30 June. Mr. Kazzaz will be succeeded by John Di Bert, who has an aviation background and is currently Chief Financial Officer of Clarios International Inc. Air Canada CEO & President Michael Rousseau said “During his 13-year career at Air Canada, Amos has held the two most senior financial roles, and has made a tremendous contribution to the overall success of our company. He has been a strong partner to me and a positive representative of Air Canada to many external stakeholders."

Aviation Capital Group Delivery of One A320neo to SAS

Aviation Capital Group announced the delivery of one new Airbus A320neo aircraft on long-term lease to Scandinavian Airlines. The aircraft is the second of ten aircraft scheduled to deliver to the airline as part of a multiple-aircraft sale-leaseback transaction between ACG and SAS.

Canada Jetlines Grows Airbus A320 Fleet

Canada Jetlines announced the signing of a letter of intent for its third Airbus A320 aircraft, which will be provided by a global aviation lessor. The delivery of the aircraft is expected by July 2023. Canada Jetlines CEO Eddy Doyle said “I am pleased that we have identified our third aircraft. We are seeing significant demand for the summer season and the addition of this aircraft will help support our existing customers and continue the Company’s growth plans.”

Vortex Aviation Opens New Chicago Facility to support industry

Vortex Aviation announced the opening of its new facility in Chicago (Roselle), Illinois to provide unparalleled support for engine asset owners, airlines, lessors, and cargo operators. This will be Vortex Aviation's fourth strategic FAA and EASA approved facility, scheduled to open on 1st May, provides comprehensive on-wing and on-site maintenance services.

WestJet Cargo receives Transport Canada approval for Boeing 737NG (BCF) Operations

WestJet Cargo announced that it has received Transport Canada’s approval and official certification of its four Boeing 737-800 Converted Freighters (BCF). WestJet Cargo and the GTA Group will expeditiously implement three freighters into service, as dedicated aircraft that will fulfil the large-scale needs of businesses, freight forwarders, shippers and individual customers across North America. The carrier stated commencing 22nd April the dedicated Boeing 737BCF’s will initially focus service within North America, serving Calgary, Halifax, Toronto, Vancouver, Los Angeles, and Miami markets.
